Understanding IESCO Bill Online
There are many parts in the bill. Some of them are explained below:
Connection Date: This is the date when you first registered yourself in IESCO’s record for electricity connection.
Reference Number: This part is very important. This reference number is the main ID of your bill, just like your account number. You can pay your bill using this reference number and also get a duplicate copy of your bill by giving this number.
Dates: On the top right corner of your bill, you can see the reading date, issue date, and due date. These dates show when the meter reading was taken, when the bill was made, and the last date to pay the bill.
FPA: Many people ask what FPA means in the electricity bill. FPA means Fuel Price Adjustment. This system changes electricity charges based on changes in fuel prices. FPA is related to fuel costs of rental power companies that make electricity from Crude Oil, etc.
TR Surcharge: T.R means Tariff Rationalization Surcharge. In the new system, NEPRA decides the tariff and the Government gives the same tariff to all Distribution Companies. If NEPRA’s and Government’s tariff have a positive difference, then Government will pay it as “Subsidy”. If the difference is negative, the Distribution Company pays the Government as “Inter DISCO Tariff Rationalization Surcharge (IDTR SUR)”.
QTR Tariff Adj / DMC: This is a quarterly tariff adjustment you may see in your bill after every 3 months. This tax is for home users if they use more than 300 units. For business and factory users, this tax applies even if they use just one unit.
FC Surcharge: FC means Financing Cost. Financing Cost Surcharge was first set at 43 paisa per unit. This is to make sure the money borrowed by Power Holding Private Limited can be paid back.Bill Timing:
Your bill may come on different days depending on where you live. But you can check the bill history to see the reading date, issue date, and due date to get an idea about bill timing.
